Consultations
The WEEE and RoHS Directives were transposed into Irish Law following two public consultations, the first following publication of the WEEE Taskforce Report in April 2004 and the second following publication of the draft transposing Regulations in April 2005.
A summary of submissions received during the second public consultation is available for viewing.
Review of WEEE Directive
A review of the Directive and of the targets it contains is planned for 2008.
In order to have Member States, competent authorities, collection schemes, industry, NGO's and other stakeholders participating in the review process at an early stage and as they might hold information relevant to the issues under review, the EU Commission launched an on-line public information gathering exercise on the different items of the revision which ran from June 2006 until 11 August 2006.
See The Review of Directive 2002/96/EC and Information Gathering Exercise for further information.
An overview of submissions made to the EU Commission are - unless marked "not for publication" - sometimes posted on its Circa web-page.
