Dublin Docklands Development Authority

In January 1996, the Government decided that a strategic approach should be adopted to the renewal and development of the Dublin Docklands Area, comprising some 1,300 acres on both sides of the Liffey to the east of Butt Bridge. Since then, the Dublin Docklands Development Authority (DDDA) has taken over the functions of the Custom House Docks Development Authority and is leading the regeneration of the Docklands Area.

The Authority's general duties are threefold:-to secure the social and economic regeneration of the Dublin Docklands Area on a sustainable basis; to secure improvements in the physical environment of the Dublin Docklands Area, and to secure the continued development of financial services activities in the Custom House Docks Area.
