Construction Statistics
The Department monitors the level of activity in the construction industry to illuminate issues for public policy that are emerging including implications and prospects for economic growth, employment and the capacity to deliver on public investment capital programmes.
Each year the Department commissions and publishes a number of independent economic assessments of the construction industry with a particular focus on housing output including-
- A Preliminary Forecast for Construction activity in the current year.
- The annual Construction Industry Review and Outlook which reports on the outturn for the industry in the preceding year and provides a detailed assessment of the prospects for the current year and the medium term (looking forward 2-3 years).
- Quarterly Construction Industry Indicators which track current trends in the industry on an ongoing basis.
