Housing Grants and Financial Assistance

These schemes which are administered largely by the local authorities - with the exception of the thatching grant which is administered directly by the Department, provide support for people seeking accommodation in the owner occupier sector. They also assist in the upgrading of of certain categories of private housing with particular emphasis on those in most need such as older people and people with a disability.
